After two weeks with a couple of teething problems, the pool heater is fully operational and reliable! It is strange to be in Oman and feel warmer in the pool than you do out, but that is what students have been finding in lessons this week!

We would like to see the pool being used more regularly now in and out of the school week and Herman Jansonius (Marieke and Sophie’s father) has kindly offered his time on a Thursday morning to anyone (parents and students) to come and swim some laps.

The emphasis here is on fitness and not play. The lane ropes will be in and parents are asked to be responsible for their own children whether they (the parents) are swimming or not. We want to create the only space in Sohar where you c an come to swim laps undisturbed!
The sessions will run from 8am to 9am, every Thursday morning starting 1st March. You do not have to show a commitment to every week, and it will be run as a drop-in activity, but you must ensure you sign the indemnity waiver with Mr. Jansonius as there will be no lifeguard present.

The school would like the thank Mr. Jansonius for this and remind other parents that we are still looking for members of our community to offer activities outside of the school programme.
