This week we introduced the students to the idea that all good writing includes six key ingredients: ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions—the Six Traits of Writing. We started with ideas and some practice writing.

As was mentioned in our weekly e-mail, there are many different mother tongues in the Grade 4 group; seven to be exact. We were able to acknowledge all of them by writing poems on Sunday with words from each student’s home language.

Every Thursday the Grade 4 students play an interactive quiz game called a Kahoot. It’s a fun way to conclude the week and to self assess that week’s learning. The students really look forward to it!
