November 17th 1790 was the birthdate of the famous German mathematician and astronomer, August Möbius. His best known discovery was the Möbius Strip, which can be made with a piece of paper and tape. If an ant were to crawl along the strip it would end up back at its starting point without ever crossing an edge while walking on both sides of the paper!
