Thank you to all the parents and teachers who sent in soft drinks cans we have had great fun with them. Yesterday we used them to develop our mathematical skills. We tried counting them but that was really difficult so the students came up with a solution of putting the cans in lines to help us count more easily. We then sorted the cans according to size and type and counted again, matching the numbers to the groups. We never knew we could have so much fun with a box of cans.
We continued our work with the cans today, exploring how different seeds and pulses make different sounding shakers. The fun will continue when we decorate the instruments tomorrow.
