While looking at the topic “The History and Evolution of Language” in 11th grade English A, we began discussing the use of emojis as a substitute for written language, citing the emoji version of Alice in Wonderland as a starting point for our debate. After much discussion, it was decided that emojis can’t substitute as written language for, although they can convey ideas, the nuances of communication are lost in translation. However, that didn’t stop the 11th graders from composing their own stories and translating a few nursery rhymes and poems into emoji. Can you figure out what they say?
