Dear KG2 Families,
What a busy and exciting week of learning we’ve had! Here is a little glimpse into what the children have been up to:
Exploring the Skeleton:As part of our Unit of Inquiry, we introduced the children to the human skeleton and discussed why it is so important. It was wonderful to hear their thoughts—many shared that our bones help us stand up tall and move around! To help reinforce this idea, the children had a fantastic time crafting their very own skeletons using cotton swabs and glue.
What Our Bodies Need to Grow:We also began talking about what keeps our bodies growing strong, focusing on different types of food. Each child had the opportunity to draw a picture showing their own understanding of what their body needs to thrive and grow healthy.
Phonics: Letter ‘I i’, In Phonics, we introduced the letter ‘ I i’. The children listened to a fun story, sang the letter song, practised the hand action, and worked on forming the letter correctly.
In Maths, we introduced the plus (+) and equals (=) symbols. The children explored how bringing two smaller groups together makes a whole group.
