Dear Parents,

This week, we continued developing our number skills up to 50. Many students can now count confidently and independently.

We also began learning about even and odd numbers. The children explored what these words mean and how we can identify whether a number is even or odd. We also practised skip counting in 2s. Using numbers from 1 to 20, the children arranged the numbers in order and then practised counting by jumping over every second number.

To practise before and after numbers, the children played the “Before and After” game with a partner. This was a fun and active way to strengthen their number understanding.

At home, you can support your child by counting forwards and backwards to 50 and asking questions such as: “What number comes before 8?” or “What number comes after 12?”

Kind regards,
Ms. Guinee
