Here is a look at some of our learning this week.

In Mathematics, we explored data handling by using our favourite colours to cast our votes. We learnt how to collect, count and represent information using a pictogram.

In Literacy, we practised reading and writing our sight words, built our vocabulary and revised all our single sounds. We also enjoyed shared reading activities and developed our comprehension skills by talking about and responding to what we read.

We completed our story sequencing activity, working collaboratively in groups to put the pictures in the correct order and retell the story. Students enjoyed working together and sharing their ideas.

We also challenged ourselves with our first crossword puzzle using CVC words. This gave us an opportunity to apply our phonics knowledge, recognise sounds and practise spelling simple words.

Please continue reading and practising the sight words at home. Regular practice helps the children recognise these words quickly and builds their confidence in class. Please also make use of RAZ Kids at home and encourage your child to read regularly.

It has been a busy and productive week filled with learning, teamwork and lots of opportunities to practise our skills.
