MYP Art
It has been a busy week for Grade 7 students. They submitted their first formative and summative assignments and are eager to receive their grades! With Criterion A: Investigation now complete, students will begin Criterion B: Developing Ideas. Our focus is on exploring the statement, “Architectural forms can be shaped through innovation.” I have a feeling students will be excited to return to drawing and begin developing different compositions.
Students in Grade 8 have also completed their first formative and summative assessments. Now that Criterion A: Investigation is complete, they will move on to Criterion B: Developing Ideas. Our focus is on exploring the question, “How can artists use composition to communicate creative ideas?” Students are currently manipulating their selected photographs to create a starting point for their graphite artworks.
Grade 10 students have had an opportunity to return to the subject of the eye, this time using charcoal more expressively as they worked on developing their personal style. They have also completed their first formative and summative assignments. With Criterion A: Investigation complete, students will now begin Criterion B: Developing Ideas. Our focus is on exploring the statement, “Artwork can communicate memories through personal and stylistic expression.” Next week, students will begin to develop different compositional options for their drawing in charcoal.
