Dear Secondary Families,
It has been another very positive week in Secondary, with students continuing to settle into their routines and becoming increasingly confident in their learning. Our Grade 7 students are already beginning to embrace the MYP, our Grade 11 students have made an excellent start to the Diploma Programme, and this week our Grade 10 students had the opportunity to experience the format of the MYP eAssessments. It was a valuable experience that will help build confidence and familiarity ahead of the formal assessments later in the year.
A big thank you to all of the parents who were able to attend our Parent Information Evening this week. We were delighted with the excellent turnout and hope that the presentations on the MYP, DP and our Advisory Programme provided a useful insight into life in Secondary. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful questions from parents and hope we were able to provide clarity and reassurance.
These opportunities to meet face-to-face are incredibly valuable. A strong partnership between home and school is one of the most important factors in supporting young people to thrive. We also hope that meeting your child’s Advisor has helped establish an important relationship for the year ahead. Your child’s Advisor will be your first point of contact and will work closely with students and families to ensure that every student feels supported, challenged and known. It was also a pleasure to introduce our new members of staff, who have already made an excellent start to the academic year.
Finally, a reminder that our After School Activities (ASAs) begin next week. We encourage all students to make the most of these opportunities. Whether through sport, the arts, leadership, service or other interests, participation beyond the classroom plays an important role in developing new skills, building friendships and achieving a healthy balance alongside academic study.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Have a lovely weekend.
