Dear KG2 Families,
We are happy to share an update about our learning and the lovely moments we have shared this week.
The children are beginning to learn each other’s names and build early friendships. It has been wonderful to see them becoming more comfortable in the classroom and enjoying their time together as they move from one activity to another.
In Mathematics, we introduced number 1, focusing on number formation and quantity. The children explored how many objects they could see using ten frames and tally marks. One of their favourite activities was writing the number 1 on a friend’s back using their finger while saying, “Start from the top and down we run, that’s how I make number 1!” It was a fun way to practise forming the number.
In Phonics, the children began exploring the beginning sound of their names and counting how many letters are in their names. Recognising and learning their own names is an important part of our learning at this stage.
During our Unit of Inquiry, we started reading The Colour Monster and began talking about some simple feelings. The children were encouraged to think about how they are feeling and answer the question, “How are you feeling today?” 💛
We wish you all a wonderful and restful weekend and look forward to another lovely week with the children.
Warm regards,
Khadija & Ms.Maryam
