We have finally reached the end of the year. Our numbers have been (sadly) depleted in recent days, but the students who have participated fully to the end have had the opportunity to do some very exciting inquiries and to enjoy a much better student to teacher ratio. Please see seesaw to get a sense of the wonderful work the students have been doing on their CVs, World Cup research, Summer Reading List, Tripadvisor Influence project and building their own Theme Parks. Action packed indeed!
This week we have also had the opportunity to….
- Vote and give out the G6 comedy awards
- Have a wonderfully fun and reflective end of year party
- Join Secondary students for their end of year projects
Over the summer….
Please encourage your children to read every day. If they do not have access to a large library of books, please consider giving them access to a Kindle or some other e-reader type device where they can download books. Ideally the students will be reading for 30 minutes every day.
Children will also have access to all the maths games and activities we have done throughout the year, these are accessible via the maths folder on Google Classroom. Much better to play math games, than just random online games! Also 99math.com is a great website to refresh and practice our number skills and facts.
There is also an awesome educational video site – www.thekidshouldseethis.com which showcases hundreds of videos on an assortment of topics worth checking out.
Thank you for all your efforts and support over the course of the year.
Have an amazing summer. The Grade 7 teachers cannot wait to get started with this cohort in August!
