Dear Robloxian Parents,
The last concert of the year was wonderful! The students practised throughout the week and did an excellent job during their performance. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their hard work, confidence, and enthusiasm. I am so proud of all their efforts and the way they supported one another throughout the rehearsals and concert.
As you all know from the Seesaw posts, this week was Spirit Week, and the students participated with great excitement and creativity. Thank you for helping prepare for the different themed days. It was lovely to see the students enjoy themselves and create lasting memories with their classmates.
The students have nearly completed their Unit of Inquiry, How the World Works. This week, they confidently presented their Light and Sound projects and shared their learning with their classmates. It was wonderful to see the creativity, effort, and knowledge they demonstrated throughout their presentations.
Next week, students will complete a procedural writing task on how to make a s’more (shh… it’s a little surprise!). They will apply their understanding of procedural texts by including a title, materials, step-by-step instructions, a conclusion, and an illustration.
To conclude the unit, students will reflect on their learning by identifying ways light and sound are used in everyday life and explaining why they are important. This reflection will provide an opportunity for students to celebrate their learning and demonstrate their understanding of the concepts explored throughout the unit.
In Mathematics, we have been reviewing concepts learned throughout the year while creating beautiful tessellation artwork. Students have also revisited place value, number sense, and other key skills as we prepare for the transition into Grade 3. Next week, we will continue reviewing important maths concepts from across the school year.
As we approach the final days of Grade 2, students have been taking time to reflect on how much they have grown as learners, friends, and members of our classroom community. It has been wonderful to see them recognise their accomplishments and celebrate the many memories we have created together.
Next Wednesday, we will have our Grade 2 End of the Year Pool Party. Students will enjoy two hours in the pool before returning for a class celebration where they will eat, play games, and enjoy short animations together.
