Dear Robloxian Parents,

I have sent home your child’s Glow and Grow sheet. Some parents sent them back filled in, thank you so much. If your child brought theirs home after the conference, a gentle reminder to please return it by next week 😊.

We have had such a fun and busy Book Week! The students loved spending time with Grade 5 reading together, searching for Wally, and some were even able to take part in the book swap!

On Monday morning, we attended the Grade 10 Personal Project presentations. The students were incredibly attentive and were able to learn about a wide range of interesting inquiries. It was such a great experience for them to see learning beyond their own grade.

In Maths, we revisited place value and explored how to identify whether a 3-digit number is odd or even by looking closely at the ones place. We also had some fun applying our learning to real-life situations by drawing our favourite foods and then thinking about how we could share them equally into halves, thirds, or quarters. Students also had a lot of fun taking part in Maths stations.

As part of our summative assessment and action for our Unit of Inquiry, Sharing the Planet, we have been focusing on our final line of inquiry: our responsibility towards living things.

We explored the practices of sustainability, including reducing waste, reusing and recycling. From there, students created their own awareness posters based on something they felt strongly about, like recycling or taking care of our environment by not littering 🌱

Please take a moment to look at your child’s questions on Seesaw and respond in the comment section. This is a really meaningful way for us to connect our learning at school with real-life actions at home 💛

With today being Earth Day, we are hoping everyone can make a little extra effort to care for our planet and all living things 🌍

Please also take a look at our new unit flyer: Light and Sound that we have begun.

To kick off the unit, we started with a fun provocation today! Students listened carefully to a variety of sounds and had to guess what they were, then discussed their ideas with a partner. It was so lovely to see their curiosity, thinking, and excitement as they tried to make connections and explain their reasoning 😄

Thank you, as always, for your continued support; it truly makes such a difference.

Happy LONG weekend.

Warm regards,
Ms Cami ✨
