Dear KG2 Families,
We are happy to share our students’ learning from this week!
We have started our new unit, “How We Express Ourselves.” This week, we introduced the idea of a story to the children. They learned about the front cover and back cover, and the roles of the author (who writes the words) and the illustrator (who draws the pictures). We will continue discovering more about stories in the coming weeks.
In Math, we explored 3D shapes, focusing on cube and cone. The children learned the differences and features of each shape:
- A cube has 6 equal sides and 8 corners.
- A cone has a flat, round bottom and a pointy top. It can roll in a circle, but not like a ball!
More activities will be provided to help the children explore these shapes further.
In Phonics, we introduced the letter Xx. The children enjoyed listening to the story and song for the letter. As a group, the children also read “The Sun is Hot in the Sky.”
