Grade 10 MYP Art students are currently working on Criteria B (Task 2: Developing Ideas) for their e-portfolio in the unit Future Through Art. At this stage, students are experimenting with different materials, techniques, and artistic processes to explore how identity and individuality can be expressed visually.
Building on their investigation from Criteria A, where they examined how artists communicate diverse perspectives and personal experiences, students are now refining their ideas through practical exploration. Guided by the Global Context of Identities and Relationships, they are considering how aesthetic choices influence interpretation and how beauty can be understood through difference.
Centered on the Key Concept of Aesthetics and the Related Concept of Interpretation, students are developing and testing visual ideas that respond to the statement of inquiry: “Beauty and uniqueness are found in our differences.”Through experimentation and reflection, they are strengthening both their technical skills and their conceptual understanding before moving toward their final artwork.
