Oman Week!

Time to celebrate this beautiful country we live in and explore the culture.

We look at Oman map and think of all the things we could say or know.

We started the week with a lovely assembly from a visiting school and did some lovely pictures about the all-important palm tree and all the things it provides us and all the uses for each part of it.

We enjoyed watching traditional crafts being made and asked questions to find out more. We had a go ourselves at doing some paper-weaving after watching the palm leaf weaving. We were spoilt with snacks and treats as friends brought gifts to share for Qaranqashoh.

We had a visit from 3 special guests- camels! We asked some interesting questions about these amazing animals and found out more facts from our assistant, Ms Asma as her father has his own camel farm. We enjoyed following simple instructions to draw our own camels.

The girls have been working hard to prepare an Omani traditional dance for the assembly.

Students have also been studying sounds, writing, learning about shapes and exploring the meaning of community for our new Unit.

Hope everyone will be coming to the International Evening tonight and then- have a peaceful weekend!
