Dear Parents,

I hope this message finds you well. It has been a productive start to the new term, and I am pleased to share the progress our students have made this week as they dive into their new units of study.

Our MYP music students are already deeply engaged in their creative processes. Here is an update on their activities this week:

  • Grade 7: Music for Advertising – This week, students made great strides as they progressed in their group songs. They are currently exploring how to structure short, impactful musical ideas suitable for commercial use.
  • Grade 8: Music for Films – Our Grade 8 students have officially chosen music from films to play on their instruments. It is wonderful to see them selecting iconic themes and beginning the technical work required to bring these cinematic scores to life.
  • Grade 9: Rock and Pop – Students in Grade 9 are currently researching Rock and Pop, looking into the history, key artists, and cultural shifts that defined these genres. This research will form the foundation for their upcoming performance and composition tasks.
  • Grade 10: The e-Portfolio – Our Grade 10 students are progressing with their e-Portfolios, focusing on documenting their rehearsal processes and refining the artistic evidence required for their final MYP submissions.

Thank you for your continued support of our music program.
