Dear Parents,
What a vibrant week of learning it has been across all classes (as always!)
Grade 7s sat their assessment this week and showed real focus and determination. Next week, we will dive into the theme of friendship: what makes a good friend, what we try to avoid, and how we talk about all of that in French.
Grade 8s got their first glimpse of our new units and experienced the QFT (Question Formulation Technique), which always brings out thoughtful and creative questioning. We also took a trip to the farm to debate whether beauty or the environment should matter more when it comes to commercialisation. Plenty of strong opinions and excellent arguments emerged.
Grade 9s wrapped up their assessment and are now ready for something fresh. Next week, they will get a sneak peek of our new unit on the role of education, empathy in schools, and what the best school systems around the world look like. Some fascinating discussions ahead.
Grade 10s completed and submitted their videos for Criterion C and D, and they should be proud of the work they produced. Next week, we shift into mindfulness activities, exploring the strategies they selected as tools to support mental health.
DP students spent the week tackling grammar: passé-composé, relative pronouns, passive voice, the whole lot. Next week, they will apply their newly learnt skills through a reading and writing task.
A rich, reflective, and engaging week, setting us up beautifully as we head toward the end of Term 2.
Warm wishes,
Miss J
