Dear Parents,

Happy National Day, Oman! 🇴🇲
What a beautiful moment to celebrate where we are, reflect on what brings us together, and enjoy a well-deserved sense of pride and community.

Next week will be a short one, with no classes on Wednesday and Thursday so that everyone can enjoy a long, restful weekend; perfect timing before a few exciting assessments and projects take centre stage!

Grade 7s will spend 3 days away, followed by the holidays… I guess that means… NO FRENCH! Have a wonderful week grade 7s, enjoy it to the fullest! If you wanted to take some time to practice and review how to describe people and their look, that would definitely not hurt!

Grade 9s will be sitting their Criterion A listening assessments. Students have been practising hard and are ready to show just how much progress they’ve made, and I know they’re keen!

Grade 8s will keep building on their current learning, consolidating key skills before moving forward, while Grade 10s continue developing their movie projects, combining Criterion C and Criterion D to express ideas creatively and collaboratively.

A special mention this week for Service as Action: one of our Grade 10 students is creating a welcome booklet for new arrivals in Sohar. If you have a few minutes, please consider completing her survey to help her gather perspectives and make newcomers feel at home.

Finally, our DP students will launch their new unit on l’environnement, part of the theme Partage de la Planète. Expect some rich discussions ahead as we explore global issues and sustainability in true IB spirit.

Wishing you all a joyful National Day and a refreshing weekend!

Warm wishes,
Miss J
