Dear Parents,
What a fun AND focused week it’s been!
Grade 7s started practising their listening and viewing skills to discuss clothes and looks. We decided to postpone hobbies for a bit; the perfect choice to dive into something more playful and visual while preparing for our upcoming Criterion A listening summative. Have they shown you the “Shiny” video yet?
Grade 8s were away for part of the week (sailing, “la voile” – how lucky!) and have just completed their listening assessment, Criterion A. Just the right balance between work and play. I can’t wait to see how well they’ve done and to plan our next steps based on the results.
Grade 9s have also been sharpening their listening skills, getting ready for their upcoming Criterion A assessment. Their focus and teamwork have been great to see.
Grade 10s have started their movie project, you know the one for WHO – Health for All Film Festival, practising writing and speaking through Criterion D and Criterion C, still connected to our same theme of mental Health. It’s creative, lively, and shaping up to be something special.
DP students have been exploring rites of passage, analysing what connects and separates us from other cultures, making the world richer and them more informed. Next week, we’ll keep going with the same topic through a new speaking and writing piece.
Short week for some, strong focus, and plenty of curiosity, just how we like it.
Warm wishes,
Miss J
