We came back to school with lots of news from our holidays and everyone could say one or several sentences in English about where they had been and what they had done. It was good to be back in our classroom and students settled quickly into their routines.

This week we have continued to focus on short vowel sounds- saying, writing and recognising them. We enjoyed singing songs which is a great way to learn and help us remember these special sounds. By the end of the week we were writing words during our morning whiteboard sessions and all have shown an improvement.

During Maths sessions we focus on something else very special- the number 10! With a friend we worked together in different ways to make 10- using our combined fingers or bricks and blocks, counting together, taking turns and then recording our work on paper to represent our findings.

I was very pleased to meet with many parents and we talked together with students about their learning progress and collaboratively celebrated achievements and set new learning goals.

Super first week back, thanks everyone!
