Dear Secondary Parents,
It was wonderful to see a number of you at our Parent Coffee Morning this week. We truly value these opportunities to connect and share in conversation together. A special thank you to those who attended our ManageBac Workshop. During this session, we explored how teachers use ManageBac to design units of inquiry and assess student learning. Parents gained insight into all the planning and collaboration that happens behind the scenes to create the learning experiences visible on the platform. We also looked at how parents can access key information such as student timetables, assigned tasks, grading updates and student reports. It was a valuable opportunity to share how this platform connects teaching, learning, and communication between home and school. If you have any difficulties accessing ManageBac, please reach out to our IT Team at school.
Next week, our Student Councils are leading an important initiative to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There will be bake sales and donation opportunities throughout the week and students and staff will be encouraged to wear pink. We thank our student leaders for their compassion and commitment to this cause. Your support and generosity are always appreciated.
Today, we enjoyed our second House Competition of the year, which was designed and led by our Grade 10 students. They did a fantastic job planning and organising a series of fun and energetic relay activities for the entire Secondary School. It was wonderful to see students from all Houses cheering each other on and showing great teamwork and spirit. A big congratulations to Blue House for taking first place, and well done to our Grade 10 students for their leadership and creativity in bringing our community together!
As we head into the final week of this half term, we are incredibly proud of how well our students are progressing. Their hard work and enthusiasm have been evident across all year levels. Teachers are now busy finalising Student Reports, which will be shared with families at the end of next week.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support in making ABIS such a positive and engaged learning community.
Kind regards
Andy Cooper
