I hope you are having a wonderful week. I am writing to share an update on the progress and recent milestones achieved in our music classes.
In Grade 7, students have successfully started drafting their compositions for the “Music for Video Games” unit, with many completing their initial musical measures. As they move into this challenging creative phase, I am encouraging all students to maximize their focus during class time to fully benefit from the guided instruction and feedback.
Our Grade 8 students have been building on their understanding of the Blues by mastering complex chord progressions and exploring the practical application of the Blues scale. This practice is essential as they continue to develop their original compositions in Garageband.
Finally, the Grade 10 class has transitioned smoothly into their next phase of Jazz study. Following their individual performances, students engaged in valuable reflection on their work. They have now started rehearsing a new Jazz song, expanding their repertoire and technical skills.
