Dear KG2 Families,

We are happy to share updates about our young learners this week in the classroom! 🌟

In our Unit of Inquiry “Who We Are”, children explored the feeling of anger. They shared what makes them feel angry and what they can do to manage this feeling. We practiced a hand-breathing exercise to help children calm down and manage their feelings.

We also focused on the skeleton and learned how it is very important for the human body and helps us move.

In Mathematics, we started simple addition with small numbers and introduced the number 6 using the phrase: “Bending down to pick up sticks… That’s how I write number 6.” The children also learned to recognize number 6 in dice, tally marks, ten frames, and words.

In Literacy, we introduced the letter I. Children enjoyed the story Inky Mouse, sang the letter song, and created a paper ice cream cone craft for a fun hands-on activity.
