Dear Parents,

DP students explored health and bigorexia this week while continuing their practice with Paper 2 reading. The discussions were sharp, thoughtful, and sometimes surprising. Next week, they will shift into reflection and planning next steps.

Grade 10s completed their Criterion B i, ii, iii summative on Wednesday, drawing on the WHO Mental Health report to analyse factors and problems linked to well-being. It was a demanding task, but the preparation paid off. Next week, they will step back, reflect on their learning, and chart their next goals.

Grade 9s tackled their Criterion B iii summative on Monday, showing how travel connects to identity and shapes perspective. Their reflections on gratitude for opportunities many take for granted were impressive. Next week is about reviewing strengths and areas to improve, setting a solid foundation for what comes next.

Grade 8s continued working on structures and sentence-building, helped along by the “Police of the verb” story. This practice is preparing them to write more effective sentences and connect ideas clearly. Their Criterion B i, ii, iii summative will take place next week, when they will finally put all these skills to the test.

Grade 7s worked on the finishing touches of their identity work, discussing what makes them who they are. Their Criterion B summative is set for next week, when they will bring these reflections into a more formal task.

It has been a big week of assessments and/or preparation across the board, and next week will be our moment to reflect, recharge, and prepare the road ahead.

Warm wishes,
Miss J
