Dear Secondary Parents,
This week, our IB Diploma students visited OQ Sohar for an interdisciplinary science field trip. This experience gave them the chance to see how the concepts they study in class come to life in the real world, exploring polymer production and industrial science alongside OQ’s engineers. Please see Mr Duncan’s post for more details.
At ABIS, we are deeply committed to the International Baccalaureate’s philosophy of authentic learning. Across all grades, students participate in interdisciplinary units, where they make connections between different subjects and explore how their learning links to real-world issues. These experiences help students develop critical thinking skills and see how academic study is relevant beyond the classroom walls.
Next week, our Grade 10 and Grade 11 students will continue to connect their learning with future pathways when they attend the Edutrac Conference in Muscat. This event brings together universities, colleges, and industry professionals, giving our students a unique opportunity to explore possible career paths, speak with higher education representatives, and start to imagine the many exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
We are grateful to our community partners for supporting these opportunities and look forward to continuing to build experiences that inspire our students to become active, globally minded learners who are ready to make a positive difference in the world.
Warm regards,
Andy Cooper
