Dear Parents,
I hope you are having a wonderful week. I am writing to provide an update on our progress in the music department and to inform you that students across the Middle Years Programme (MYP) are preparing for their upcoming formative assessments, which will be held next week.
In 7th grade, students are exploring the concept of dynamics in their performances. They have also begun their exciting exploration of music for video games and are learning about the notes on the music staff.
Our 8th-grade students are deeply engaged in an inquiry into the Blues, focusing on its different styles and main characteristics.
In 10th grade, we have now studied two different Jazz styles and their defining characteristics. Students are progressing wonderfully in their interpretations and are showing great dedication to their work.
It has been a productive and positive time, and the students’ enthusiasm for their learning is evident every day. We look forward to their upcoming assessments.
