It’s been another wonderful year. Thank you for all your support as parents, thanks to your children for being great students, and I look forward to seeing most of you again next year.
In grade 10, we covered film reviews, academic writing, creative writing, and the representation of women in dramas. This last unit also introduced critical literary theory. The start of next year will launch into analysis of film reviews, where we will be combining the skills we learned in the first two units of MYP year 5. Then we will move onto looking at other literary and non-literary texts based on a curriculum we co-constructed at the end of this year.
In grade 11, we covered a little more than half of the DP syllabus this year. We have completed three literary works and seven of our non-literary works. We will start DP year 2 with the higher level essay, as we continue to study our final three literary works. Year 2 gets intense, so make sure they get plenty of rest and relaxation in during the vacation, so they return ready to thrive.
