This Week in Our Classroom:

Grade 8 students are expanding their problem-solving toolkit by mastering both the elimination and substitution methods to solve simultaneous linear equations. Grade 9 is diving into the practical applications of geometry by exploring the surface area and volume of 3D objects, focusing on composite shapes. Meanwhile, Grade 10 is revisiting patterns, including arithmetic, geometric, and quadratic sequences, as part of their comprehensive review. For our DP students, Grade 12 is finalizing and submitting the final draft of their Internal Assessments for Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation, a key milestone in their academic journey.

Student Spotlight: Grade 8 student Zhayne has shown excellent logical reasoning in applying the substitution method effectively. Grade 9’s Durra impressed her classmates with her accurate calculations of complex 3D shapes. Grade 10 student Eshal displayed outstanding analytical skills in identifying and extending quadratic patterns.

Looking Ahead: Next week, Grade 8 will tackle real-world word problems involving simultaneous equations. Grade 9 will extend their knowledge to solve optimization problems involving 3D objects. Grade 10 will deepen their understanding of sequences by applying them to real-life scenarios. Grade 12 students will shift their focus to preparing for their upcoming DP exams.
