This was my first Oman Week at ABIS and I have enjoyed it maybe more than the children!
We shared all we knew about Oman on the first day and then, as good inquirers, went to the marvellous exhibition set up in the Reception to find out even more. Ms Eiman was our Guide, showing and explaining many of the artefacts, models and Omani traditions for us. Students were very observant and took notes or did drawings to record new information.
We have previously been on two trips to the Wadi and the beach so we could do many activities here at school this week. We have enjoyed watching and tasting Omani food, cooked by Ms Zuweina and Ms Ahlam. In class, inspired by the fans and mats made of palm leaves, we attempted our own weaving. Girls had henna, several of us rode on the two visiting camels and we have worked hard at writing about this beautiful country. Ms Adhb provided some fun activities to help us colour, cut and stick Omani costumes and now, we have our own camel puppets to help us invent a story too.
Happy Weekend everyone!
