Dear ABIS Family,

Happy New Year!

Welcome back after the winter holiday. I hope you had a great break and the children have all returned with smiling faces, eager to be at school! We had a fantastic first term. We are all very excited because last term we were very busy looking at physical fitness concepts, principles, and strategies that apply to improve health and performance. They also learned the basic concepts of athletic events that will give them the opportunity to practice and apply during the Primary Sports Day.

This week Grade 1-2 had a great time playing simple games. One major objective of playing games and participating in activities is to learn problem-solving, strategy, trust, calculated risk-taking, how to adapt to unforeseen issues and how to share.Through play, children develop thinking skills and abilities that help them to succeed in their future, including in language learning. Grade 3 to Grade 6 students started doing the invasion unit.  Through the activities in this unit students will be able to understand and use words relating to: attacking, defending, running, stopping, jumping, chasing, dodging and skipping

I would like to remind all the families from K1-G6 that All Swimming classes will resume on the 19th of January. Please remind your child to bring the following during the swimming class.

  • Swim cap (compulsory)
  • Swim goggles (compulsory)
  • One-piece swimsuit for girls
  • Swim trunks or shorts for boys
  • Towel
  • Wet bag

Have a good weekend.
