Dear Primary Families,
It has been lovely welcoming back all of our students this week after what I hope was a relaxing and enjoyable winter break. I was delighted to see so many happy, smiling faces on our students—and even some teachers—as friends reunited after the holidays!
I had a fabulous break and was so pleased to have the chance to spend time with my own two children, Jacob and Annabel, who visited Oman for the first time. We traveled to Muscat, Ras Al Hadd, Nizwa, and Bidiyah, where we explored beaches, the ocean, mountains, and the desert. My travels were a wonderful reminder of what a beautiful country we have the good fortune to live in. My children had an amazing time and cannot wait to return!
This week in school, I have seen students reconnecting with their friends and classmates while getting back into their learning routines. Across the primary school, new units of work are beginning, while others are continuing. For example, our grade 6 students are well into their PYP Exhibition unit. It is wonderful to see how they are progressing with their inquiries, supported so expertly by Mr. Matthew. Each student’s inquiry is unique, and I am excited to see the results in a few weeks when they share their process and learning with the school community.
As you will see from the section below, the next few weeks will be very busy with a range of events and activities. We thank you for your continued support and hope to see you at the various assemblies, conferences, and exhibitions.
Best regards,
Matthew
