Dear parents,
Last weekend, our Secondary students attended the TSS MUN Conference at the Sultan’s School in Muscat. Each student prepared diligently and demonstrated strong leadership potential. Special congratulations to Janko Visser who was awarded Best Delegate for representing the UAE on the Security Council! Thank you to Mr. Chris and Ms. Meeta for organizing and accompanying our students.
This week, our Student Council and staff held ‘Kindness Day’ with students sharing inspiring messages. Celebrating kindness fosters empathy and builds a positive school environment. Special thanks to Ms. Amy and Ms. Sri for organising and to everyone who contributed to this meaningful day.
On Monday, November 11, 5 of our students visited the Ministry of Information to record their segments with renowned Omani broadcaster and writer Suleiman bin Ali Al-Maamari. He praised the eloquence and fluency of our ABIS students, reflecting their excellence and pride in the Arabic language. Thank you to Ms. Karima and Mr. Matthew for their support and to the students for their fantastic contributions.
Thank you for supporting this week’s Book Fair with DC Books! All classes visited the Book Fair, along with many parents. The good selection of books available made for high sales by the participants. Special thanks to Ms. Maryam and Ms. Juhaina for their efforts in organising and managing the Book Fair.
In the Inter-School Basketball Tournaments, our senior boys won the championship, defeating last year’s champions, The Indian School, while our junior team placed second after an exciting overtime victory. For the girls, our juniors took second place, and our senior girls won the championship. Special thanks to Mr. Fernando and Ms. Dorothy for organizing these events and to Mr. Michael and Mr. Ferdi for coaching. A great result for ABIS!
A special mention of the Saturday Sports Club. This club is gaining popularity as more students sign up for swimming and indoor football. Parents can register their children here.
On Monday, we’ll celebrate National Day. Students are encouraged to wear traditional Omani attire or the colors of Oman. There will be a school-wide assembly to mark this important day.
Finally, please do take a few minutes to fill in the parent survey. This is important feedback for the school to identify what we are doing well and where we can improve. You can access the survey here: Survey in English Survey in Arabic
Reminder: School will be closed on November 20th and 21st for the National Day Holiday.
Enjoy your weekend!
