Grade 1A have had another active week of learning and new experiences.
This week we started learning sounds- recognising, saying, writing and finding words with these four sounds- s a t i. We learn an action with each sound and repeat this often also trying to sound out words with this knowledge. Students sometimes work individually but we also tried working as a group and then presenting our work to the class.
Maths work included number- recognition, writing, ordering, counting forward and back. Then, we made a class graph. Several students have begun to collect their own data and were very independently doing this.
Our other highlight was starting swimming lessons. Everyone enjoyed this, tried hard and enjoyed a cool splash in our beautiful pool.
