Secondary students made a visit to the ABIS building site last week and found it really interesting.  Our helpful project management consultant, Krishnan, talked and ‘safely walked’ students through the project and described how it will develop. The Secondary School now can’t wait to move in!

We are nearing the date of the French trip and I know that students have been participating in lessons on ‘essential French’ to build up their confidence in France. We will continue to communicate details and guidance as we move closer to the ‘bon voyage!’ date. All students now have their visas prepared thanks to the helpful effort of ‘Madame Cerdan’ and ‘Madame Znaidi’.

As part of the CIS accreditation process that the school is currently involved in, we are doing a self-study. There are many parts of the self-study, which is organised into separate committees of teachers, parents and students.  The first group is focussing on ‘guiding statements’ and the school’s mission and vision, investigating how well we achieve it and what we could do better. The other committees, such as the all important one that focuses on teaching and learning, will also start soon.

Dates for your calendar: Grade 5 to 8 Band Ensemble Evening on the 9th of November, and the Parents Evening (Three Way Conference) on Wednesday, November 12th.  We aim to issue the student progress reports (Mid Semester) on Thursday 5th of November. Further details to follow shortly.

Finally, we are working with the Student Council to add lots of exciting and fun events, such as Wednesday’s Movie Night. I’d like to thank them for all the work they have been doing already this year to build school spirit, plan fun events and represent their fellow students. I know that we really value their support and that there is much more to come.
