Dear ABIS Community Members,
Throughout this academic year, our MYP students delved into a variety of skills and concepts within physical and health education. The initial units concentrated on health-related fitness activities, followed by an exploration of invasion games such as basketball, tchoukball, and handball. In December, students learned about various track and field events and took part in Sports Day. In January and February, they engaged in football and swimming activities. Our students also gained knowledge about badminton and volleyball, culminating the year with a focus on aesthetic movement.
It is important to note that physical and health education encompasses a variety of sports, and a balanced curriculum is essential for the holistic development of our students. We should be receptive to new experiences to broaden our knowledge and understanding of physical and health education. Thinking about next year, the PHE department is planning a range of events for students to apply or showcase their learning at the end of each unit.
