Good afternoon Grade 2SB Parents,

What a fantastic way to end our first week back after our holiday! The students really showed their team spirit and has such a lot of fun. Than =k you to all those parents who were able to attend the assembly and join us for our family picnic.

At the beginning of this week, grade 2 students presented their homes which they had worked on in teams. They spoke about the building itself, how it fulfilled that family’s needs and how well they worked together as a team.

When you come to our learning space next week for the 3 Way Conferences, you will be able to see the homes they built and their design process.

In maths, we have been learning about 3D shapes and identifying property of each 3D shape. We are building cubes from nets, creating patterns of cubes from making buildings and visualising shapes while talking about them with a partner.

In reading, we have learned new vocabulary words, noticed if the text was fiction or non-fiction and begun to find the main ideas and the supporting details.

Our writing this week was to complete the booklet on how they created their design with their team and then reflected on how the process went as well as how they worked collaboratively.

Please check Seesaw for the videos of each teams’ presentation of their homes they build for a family in a certain environment.

I look forward to seeing you next week during the 3 Way Conferences. Please enjoy your weekend!
