Dear ABIS Families,
This week, secondary students completed fitness testing which included the 20m Beep Test for cardiovascular endurance, Illinois Agility Test for agility, Stork Stand Test for balance, and Standing Long Jump for leg power. Next week, they will complete another set of tests. The objectives of fitness testing are to assess fitness levels, identify areas for improvement, and set personal fitness goals. Experts recommend that children engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily to enhance and maintain physical health. Exercise can also indirectly boost memory and thinking by improving mood and sleep and reducing stress and anxiety, according to Harvard Health (2021). Therefore, we encourage all students to participate in physical activities or sports they enjoy to enhance their overall health.

Sincerely.
Mr. Fernando
