As the school year comes to an end, I would like to take a moment to write about something important: balance. As an International Baccalaureate school, following the Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), it teaches us that balance is vital for our students’ growth.
Being balanced means more than just good grades. It means taking care of all aspects of our children’s development. It’s about nurturing their minds, bodies, emotions, and social skills.
By encouraging balance, we’re helping our kids become well-rounded individuals who can handle all kinds of challenges. They learn to manage their time wisely, so they have room for schoolwork, play, and rest. This way, they can avoid stress and exhaustion.
When our children embrace balance, they also learn to be empathetic. They understand and respect different cultures and beliefs. They become great communicators and collaborators, making friendships that last a lifetime.
So, as we head into the summer break, let’s remind ourselves to support our children in finding balance. Let’s encourage them to explore their passions, try new things, and take care of their well-being. Together, we can help them become happy, successful, and well-adjusted individuals.
I wish you all a wonderful, relaxing summer break.
Best regards,
Matthew Richmond
