This week, the MYP (G7-10) students completed their summative assessment for their last unit of the year. They were tasked with creating, performing, and reflecting on a gymnastics or dance routine. Aesthetic movement is a challenging unit to teach because students are often shy or uncomfortable dancing in front of their peers or lack the physical skills required to perform complex gymnastics movements. However, many students were open-minded and willing to take risks, pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones. The final performances varied in quality and creativity, but overall, the experience proved to be a valuable learning opportunity for those who embraced the challenge.
