Sunday morning’s assembly focused on the topic of homework and how students can approach it. Mr Kearney and Miss Marchmont explained how students can take a structured approach to doing homework and making the most of their precious time.
Overall, students have settled into the year really well and new teachers are finding their feet. We are very happy with the Grade 7’s as well as new students, who seem to be adjusting well to the rhythm and rituals of the Secondary School. Welcome to Ziad Barakat, who arrived on Sunday. He has joined Grade 10.
Secondary Parents Information Night is on Monday at 6:45 pm in the SLS. We will have three different meeting zones relating to Grade 7 and 8, 9 and 10 (IGCSE), and 11 and 12 (IB Diploma). The teachers will rotate and visit each area to discuss their subjects. Refreshments will also be provided as part of a Student Council fundraiser. We hope that you can all come.
As it is the start of year, we are practising and reviewing our health and safety procedures. We will be holding a fire drill next week, so if you happen to be on campus when the alarms ring, please ensure you evacuate to the car park. Even though a drill is planned, it may actually be the real thing!
Have a great weekend.
