This week we did some TUNING IN to our Unit of Inquiry, Who We Are – Culture. We shared our thoughts about the meaning of the words culture, values, and beliefs. We decided that we know a little bit about what these words mean but that we still have a ton to learn! We summarized our thoughts and wrote down our thinking on a big poster. We will return to this poster to see how our thinking changes throughout the unit. We then looked at pictures of children from around the world. We wrote our questions about the children on sticky notes and posted them under the photos. We then summarized our questions and sorted our questions into topics and put them on a big poster. Next week we will do some FINDING OUT to answer our questions.
We also got to meet our Grade 6 buddies this week!! We will be meeting with Grade 6 every week to read with them, play math games, or do some art activities with. We are very excited to have big buddies!
