Dear Families,
We are delighted to inform you that the ASA Swimming classes for Grade 1 to Grade 6 have successfully commenced this week. The classes are scheduled to take place every Sunday and Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
We kindly remind all families who have enrolled their children in the Swimming class to ensure that their kids bring their swimming caps and goggles to each session.
In addition to the swimming program, we would like to update you on the current units being covered in the PYP PE program. Grade 2 and 4 students have started the striking and fielding unit, which aims to introduce them to fundamental skills and strategies involved in various striking and fielding games. Throughout this unit, students will learn how to properly hold and swing a bat or racket, how to catch and throw a ball, and how to work as a team to score points. By the end of the unit, students will have a solid foundation in these fundamental skills, enhancing their confidence and enjoyment of physical activity.
Meanwhile, Grade 5 and 6 students are participating in the adventure challenges unit. This unit is designed to expose students to a variety of physical challenges that promote the development of their physical fitness, problem-solving skills, and teamwork abilities. Throughout the unit, students will be encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, take on mental and physical challenges, and work collaboratively with their peers. By the end of the unit, students will have honed a range of skills that will benefit them in various aspects of their lives, such as physical fitness, mental resilience, and teamwork.
We are excited about the engaging activities and learning opportunities provided by these units. As always, we appreciate your support and encourage you to engage in conversations with your children about their experiences in the PE program.
Thank you for your cooperation.
