Greetings,
Grade 4 had a great finish to this week. Students continued exploring place value by working on using both standard and expanded form of numbers to express place value. We we able to begin working on the written form of words up to 999 as well.
We continue to work to improve student literacy. I have done a spelling inventory and reading comprehension assessment and I have found we really need to work on raising student achievement in spelling, reading, and writing. Please encourage your child to read at least 10-15 minutes each night using a book at or slightly above their reading level and have them write or tell you about what they read.
Swimming will begin next week and here is the schedule for my class:
