A short but busy week of learning here in Grade 5 and everyone is looking forward to the long weekend and the return to school next week! This week we learned that the International Space Station (ISS) is currently passing over Oman (Times of Oman) and that there are certain times and dates where it may just be possible to view it! We also watched the live feed from the ISS to see the route it is currently on. In Language we have been continuing our inquiry into story elements and our Space stories are coming along nicely.
In visual art we made or drew a variety of stars and some added messages on them to share with their friends and teachers when they return to school on Tuesday 15th February. We will be celebrating Friendship Day on this day and students are asked to dress up in any combination of red, white or pink to celebrate with each other.
In Maths, the big event this week has been angles! We started this new topic with a pre-assessment to let students show what they know about angles, and it’s fair to say that in only a couple of days, they know so much more. Please ask them what they have learned…
We wish you all a restful long weekend ahead and look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Tuesday wearing red, white and/or pink!
