All IB Diploma students study a subject called TOK (Theory of Knowledge), which is similar to a course on critical thinking. The course is a way of connecting all the subjects together and taking a philosophical and critical view of them. The IB believes that all Diploma teachers should understand TOK and integrate it into the teaching, as this will deepen the students’ understanding. Mr Kearney grasped the opportunity to be a guest lecturer in a TOK class and provided a fascinating example based insight into History and Historiography (the methods used by historians and how history is recorded). Mr Adams will be the next guest lecturer and will show students how Maths and TOK are connected in coming weeks.
