It’s been a busy week in Grade 2, but then again, every week is a busy week in Grade 2! This week students were given a poem by Dr. Seuss for homework. They were asked to memorize the poem and use their face, voice, body and a prop to help express the ideas and emotions of the poem. This week we also learned more about measurement and finding the perimeter of a shape. Students put their measurement skills to use when they were asked to measure a snowman hat! We then used plastic egg cartons to make the snowman body. We had so much fun painting our snowman and flower crafts! We figured out that if we paint with red, green, and white, that our flowers can be used for Christmas celebrations OR Oman celebrations!
We will be celebrating our last day of school in 2014 today by watching the movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by Dr. Seuss. We will then clean up our classroom and re-organize our classroom to make room for 3 new students that will join us in the new year!!
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!!
