A big thank you to the Ministry of Sports Affairs for hosting a fantastic Sports Day at the Sohar Sports Complex. It was a great opportunity for our students to interact with students from other schools in Sohar as well as being able to perform in top class facilities.
Highlights of the day included blistering performances on the track and long jump pit by our girls and our dominance on the basketball court by both girls and boys. Tamika had a great day with wins in the 100m sprint and long jump, Taya was first in the long jump and second in the sprint, Greta was awesome in winning her 100m sprint while Kameron took out first in the shot put. Sachin, Sultan and Ivander were second in their sprint races with Sultan and Sachin also doing well in the long jump. The junior girl’s relay team of Coco, Aya, Greta and Taya absolutely blitzed the field and our senior girl’s team of Alla, Sara, Courtney and Tamika were far too fast for their opposition.
On the basketball court our girls were far too strong with Alla being outstanding and the girls winning by large margins. The boys had it tougher and managed to win their first game 2-0 after a teetering basket from Newton. In their final game against a very tall Indian School the boys showed great skill and composure to take the trophy 6-4.
Well done to all our students who competed on the day as they displayed good sportsmanship and were great ambassadors for our school.
