Dear Students and Parents,
We are on the look-out for interesting objects with which to make to still-life arrangements for projects. Drawing and painting a still-life is a very useful way of learning about the elements of art and boosting technical and perceptual abilities. The more varied and interesting the objects the more interesting the projects! Examples are coloured and patterned fabric, vessels, artificial flowers and fruit, ornaments, old or broken musical instruments, old or broken toys, clocks, clockwork mechanisms and other interesting mechanical components, seashells and even (cleaned) animal skulls. Please do not bring any valuable objects, but only items which you are willing to donate to us (students please do not bring in your father’s ’67 Fender Stratocaster and certainly do not do anything to it in order to make it an old and broken guitar!).
Thank You!
Mr. Clarke
